Geneaology
The Genealogy Department of the Punxsutawney Area Historical and Genealogical Society, Inc., located in the Lattimer House at 400 West Mahoning Street, is comprised of the Carpenter and Elizabeth Colburn Winslow Genealogy Room & Matthew R. and Anna M. Ayres Tibby Memorial Library.
The department houses an ever-growing collection of genealogical resources. Our holdings include:

Anyone seeking information on the genealogy of persons or families from the Punxsutawney area and Jefferson County, Pennsylvania, is invited to call or visit; knowledgeable personnel are on hand to help with research. Genealogy hours are 1 to 4 Thursday through Sunday with extended earlier hours 10 to 1 Thursday and Saturday. It is best to call ahead before making a long drive, especially in bad weather.
